Nature and Outdoors Fair

The Magnolia Rotary Club, in partnership with the Lake Creek Greenway Partnership, announces its 2024 Fundraiser project to take place on Saturday November 9th from 11am to 3pm at the Magnolia ISD Event Center.  Funds raised go to sponsoring high school students to the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA) and the Lone Star College Student Fund.

Barbara Gardner, Owner of  Old Homestead Realty here in Magnolia brought our members up to date on the state of the real estate industry here in Magnolia.  She addressed the many issues including interest rates, lack of properties on the market and the proliferation of development in our area.  Barbara is a long time resident of Magnolia and has always been involved in our community.  She currently serves as a Director on the Board for the Magnolia Community Development Corporation.  She and her husband Paul live just north of Magnolia on their horse ranch.

Pollinator Project Award

The Magnolia ISD recognized the Magnolia Rotary Club for its project to construct a Pollinator Garden at Magnolia High School earlier this year.  Its purpose was no only provide for local pollinators but an outdoor laboratory for the district's science department's teachers and students.  Educational materials for use by the science teachers and students was also provided.

District Governor Visit

District Governor Demetress Harrell reviewed the district goals including an initiative focused on supporting pollinators. She pointed out that the program is open to patients, no matter where they were treated, and for any kind of cancer. On 6/26/2017 a number of Magnolia Rotary Club members decided to have a social lunch at the Tree House Cafe on FM 1488 since there was no regular meeting scheduled. On Saturday, 11/04/2017, the Magnolia Rotary Club sponsored a "Rise Against Hunger" event where Rotarians and students from MHS, MWHS, THS, and Bear Branch Junior High managed to pack 10,152 meals in several hours that will be shipped to countries in need.
